Polecam Limited is active globally from its Headquarters base near Bedford, England and is recognised across many different markets to include Broadcast, Extreme Sports, Medical, Military & Security, Industrial & Commercial, Corporate, Natural History and emerging markets for specialist Property, Wedding and Music environments; as the market leader for super lightweight, highly portable camera jib, minicams, lenses and remote control systems.
Polecam is proud of its heritage and encompasses a broad range of complementary skills in-house to include 3dCad Design & Modelling, Engineering and Design workshops, Assembly and Test areas, Warehousing & Despatch, Sales & Marketing and Accounts & Administration.
Additionally Polecam employs and utilises the skills and services of UK based suppliers and manufacturers – which enables and ensures the highest quality is achieved throughout each process for each and every rig.
Polecam was founded in 1998 by Steffan Hewitt, BSc(hons) Metallurgy & Material Science.
STEFFAN HEWITT
Steffan’s background includes a spell as an apprentice cameraman/editor for FM Television covering all forms of motorsport and then as a freelance extreme sports cameraman including filming from helicopters, motorbikes and cablecam. A steadicam operator who also spent 4 years on the Windsurfing and Snowboard world tour.
It was while on the Windsurfing World Tour that Steffan created his very first Polecam.
While directing a series of windsurfing kit commercials in Hawaii, he needed to obtain close wide-angle front sequences of a windsurfer in action, shot from a tracking boat or jet ski. Steffan improvised a rig comprising a miniature camera on a carbon-fibre windsurfing mast. Returning to Britain, he developed a lightweight go-anywhere rig with a remote joystick controlling a high-precision pan and tilt head. Polecam is now supplied with a range of options all with precision engineered remote controlled pan/tilt heads.

Mike joins Polecam at an exciting time of product design and innovation. Cricket coach, Arsenal fan and under-achieving golfer, Mike is a serial entrepreneur with a track-record of building high-performing teams and successful companies.
JOSH BREWER
Engineer
Meet Josh, our 3D Printing guru, CAD modeller, machinist and Professional Pancake Assembler, a veritable Jack of all trades I think you will agree! Together with Steffan, Josh spends many hours undertaking vital Research & Development within Polecam. With limitless ideas on future projects, he’s a busy man.
SARAH BEES
Accounts & Logistics
Manages the daily Accounts and Administration operations including both international and domestic shipments; additionally overseeing the control of stock and allocations on a daily basis.
LIZ WANDEN
Accounts & Logistics
Liz has recently joined the team to take over the reigns from Sarah in 2026. Coming from an account management background in print, Polecam is proving to be a refreshing change. She can generally be found huddled over a spreadsheet or lacing up her trainers for a 5k. Covering logistics, accounts and all things admin, as well as website and marketing, she has her work cut out!
MAREK JAMROZ
Production Manager
Marek has been at Polecam since 2012. A keen and accomplished photographer is also known as ‘Magic’. His organisational skills in the warehouse soon developed into product assembly and testing. Together with Sarah, he is now responsible for everything that leaves the factory.
RYAN SANDIFER
Technician
Ryan is our ‘man on the ground’ and works alongside the Production Manager. He is responsible for assembling and testing all manner of technological wonderments. All orders will pass through his department and having a keen eye for detail, he’s rarely sat down.
