A major new addition to the Polecam product range will be introduced at IBC 2010. The HRO 69 (High Resolution Optics) is a high quality 3.5 mm lens designed specifically for use with latest-generation 1/3 inch miniature 3-CCD HD cameras.
"The HRO 69 is without exaggeration one of the most important new products at this year's IBC," states Polecam founder and Managing Director Steffan Hewitt. "Miniature split head cameras have become standard tools for HD video production in recent years but traditional lens manufacturers have not responded to demand for matching high-quality optics. The Polecam HRO 69 is a C-mount lens designed specifically for 1/3 inch 3-CCD HD cameras. It produces far higher resolution images than any comparable model and represents a tremendous advance both for Polecam operators and other programme-makers wanting to benefit fully from the compactness of modern HD cameras and recorders. Madrid-based Polecam specialists Cristian Martínez and Juan Carlos Bergantiños (Poleshot Production) have completed a successful commission for Televisión de Catalunya (TV3) as part of a team televising the 2010 UEFA Champions League football final in Spain. Held on May 22 at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, home of Real Madrid, the match between F.C. Internazionale Milano and Bayern Munich was televised in 3D via a total of 13 cameras including Polecam, Spidercam, Steadicam and overhead shots from a helicopter. Production was managed by Catalan public-service broadcaster Televisión de Catalunya (TV3) which was commissioned by UEFA to cover the event.

Polecam, world leader in 3D and 2D ultra-mobile digital video production systems, announces the appointment of Vic Godding as Sales and Marketing Manager. Vic arrives with 18 years of experience in imaging and media. He studied photography to HND level at the University of Westminster before joining Kodak in 1991 as a research and development technician. He progressed in 1999 to technical product specialist with Kodak's Entertainment Imaging business unit, promoting Kodak film to programme-makers, post-production facilities and distributors as well as providing after-sales support. In 2008 he joined the Sohonet data management and networking agency as account manager, based at the company's Soho and Pinewood offices.

Polecam proves 'The Boom is the Zoom' at NAB 2010 |

"You have the best 3D in the entire show," commented visitors to Polecam's demonstrations at the April 2010 NAB Convention in Las Vegas. With many exhibitors navigating through the minefield of shooting 3D through variable-magnification optics, Polecam clearly illustrated the advantages of deploying prime lenses and moving the cameras towards the subject rather than zooming into close-up.

Polecam operator Steve Rausch has completed his second season capturing ISOC National SnoCross Racing (SnoX). Nine events were organized by the International Series of Champions during winter 2009-2010, each race being streamed live on the internet and later edited into a one-hour show for transmission on the Versus cable TV network.
